The time I was abandoned in a foreign country?!?!

When I was 11, my family decided to take a trip to Mexico, Guatemala. It was quite a trip where my family had seen very beautiful landscapes and historical monuments on our drive. We had seen vast, open lands that your never see in a city like mine. It was like a whole other world of curiosity beyond what I had been raised in. I've been to other places before, but never to one almost like Mexico! The McDonald's in Mexico are pure sourcery. I mean, literally. I usually can never have what I want quickly but this was the span of about thirty seconds as if they already knew what I wanted. But that was just our way there.

Upon getting to Guatemala, there was a festival. It was a very large crowd and my family knew what storm what was to come when we got out of the car and joined the fiesta. The night went by swift and peacefully but something unexpected happened. All of my friends and family in Mexico had started a huge dance type of thing. I don't completely remember the name, but we would dance with a partner and after every pace or so we'd switch partners. I know it sounds really weird, but my family and ethnicity believes that pretty much all of our people are close friends,  even if we don't know them. I come from a really friendly believing environment that everyone seems to know each other in.

Back to the story, after about twenty minutes of dancing I was with someone I didn't recognize but its just pure respect to treat them like family so I didn't think anything of it until I realized my family was no where to be found and I had to stay at the party hoping I would see a familiar face in a crowd. After about fifteen minutes of looking, I seen my grandma eating a tamale and sipping coke like she hadn't even realized I was missing.

But yeah, that was the time I had gotten lost in a country that I wasn't familiar with at the time. I hope you liked it because it took a while to write :)
